Men host tournament this weekend

Good things come to those who wait. In his ninth season as head coach of the SCSU men's basketball team, Kevin Schlagel has had to go on the road for every in-season tournament the team has been a part of. Not this year. SCSU will be hosting their first tournament of Schlagel's tenure when they play in the American Family Insurance Hoopster Classic Friday and Saturday at Halenbeck Hall.

NY honors Koch

Ryan Koch was among the 16 college football players whose academic and athletic accomplishments led them to New York City for the presentation of the Draddy Trophy on Tuesday. "It's extremely significant," Koch said. "I never imagined something like this.

SCSU's first line dominates

With the college hockey season's halfway point fast approaching, SCSU is gearing up for a playoff run nobody expected them to be making. The Huskies, with nine conference points, currently occupy seventh place in the WCHA standings- two points behind Minnesota Duluth and three behind Denver and North Dakota.

Women continue to win

MARSHALL -- After starting the season 6-0 and averaging 97.5 points a game, the women's basketball team traveled to Marshall on Wednesday for a game against Southwest Minnesota State. MSU is 3-3 on the year and have been beaten badly in NCC competition, losing to South Dakota 78-52 and North Dakota 96-46.

Students chill out by playing boot hockey

If you like the sport of hockey with the comical art of falling down, you will like boot hockey. This intramural sport is a form of hockey played on ice without ice skates. For several years, the Campus Rec. Center has offered boot hockey as an intramural sport.
