Gophers sweep Huskies

Freshman right forward
On paper, the Huskies weekend series against the No. 1 ranked University of Minnesota Golden Gophers had all the makings of

Local skaters make area proud

St. Cloud area natives Matt Hartman (left) and Nate Raduns grew up watching the Huskies play at the National Hockey Center as children. This weekend, the duo take on two other St. Cloud natives, Chris Harrington and Mike Howe, from the No. 1 ranked University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
There's a possibility that somewhere around the St. Cloud area at this moment, there are youngsters lacing up their skates or practicing their slap shots hoping to become Huskies like sophomore Nate Raduns and first-year forward Matt Hartman.

Raduns, a native of nearby Sauk Rapids, and Hartman, a graduate of St.

Quigley stuns undefeated SWMS

Sophomore Erika Quigley goes up for the basket against a Southwest Minnesota State University´s Meghan Nelson during a game Tuesday night at Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies beat the previously undefeated Mustangs 94-78. Quigley missed tying an individual single-game scoring record by one point.
Three weeks and a day into the 2004-05 basketball season, the SCSU's women basketball team finally had their home opener.

Sophomore Erika Quigley and the rest of the Huskies made the event well worth the wait.

Facing the undefeated Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs (7-0), SCSU began the game with a swarming defense that frustrated SWMS.

Huskies prepare for No. 3 ranked 'Dogs

After splitting a weekend series with No. 6 St. Lawrence last weekend, the women's hockey team hopes to pick up more wins against a ranked opponent, the No. 3 ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (11-1-2 overall, 9-1-2 WCHA).

The Huskies know they have to prepare for a series with a lot of contact and the coaches have spent time this week adjusting the style of play.

Siegle poised for greatness

Junior Matt Siegle has been a standout for the Huskies this season. Siegle scored 40 points during a game in Duluth earlier this season and in the process was named to the All-Tournament team.
In the past three years with the SCSU men's basketball program, Matt Siegle has developed into one of the Huskies' premier offensive players.

Standing 6-feet-8, Siegle has used his size to dominate over opponents. As a junior starter, Siegle said that he hopes to continue his strong play this season in order to help lead his team to a North Central Conference (NCC) championship.

Huskies need everyone to contribute

It's almost exactly mid-season for the Husky men's hockey team and their record is as average as a record can be: 8-7-1.

Their schedule so far has been relatively tough, with four of their series against currently or previously nationally ranked teams in the top 15 (Duluth dropped out of the top 15 for the first time this week).
